According to ACIN tons of rumours are flooding in some including that this movie coulc be linked to voltron...

(A) "CLOVERFIELD is really RAMPAGE," (B) "CLOVERFIELD is really VOLTRON," and (C) "CLOVERFIELD is called MONSTROUS," all rumors that have been floating around the internet for weeks now.

    Godzilla i can being filmed and done on a handcam. But Voltron c'mon this is like the Transformers and why the hell would you wanna shoot it some artsy fartsy hand cam version.
