The musical follows much of the original plot - five friends find the Book of the Dead in a cabin in the woods, unleashing evil undead creatures. Possession and bloodshed ensues. What's different with the musical is, obviously, the singing and dancing. The songs, dialogue, and cheap production values both satirize and pay homage to the original trilogy very well. There are so many references to the original film in the dialogue that hardcore fans will have a blast. It's just really silly and really fun.
