First director announced for the special 6 ep Origins is none other then Kevin Smith. I have a sneaking suspicion that Joss Whedon is going to direct an episode. Why do I suspect this because

a). It gives Joss Whedon freedom without having to hamper his movie writing schedule.
b). Joss tends to write about young girls growing up and dealing with change and what better way then Heroes ala 'X-men, Kitty Pride'
c). Most likely good friends with Marvel/Jeph Loeb so yeah do the Math? hehe

Smith told the audience that he did not watch the show when it originally aired, but that he and his wife downloaded the entire first season on iTunes and watched every episode in two and a half days. Smith loved the cliffhangers the show had and said that due to the addictive nature of the show, he would keep suggesting they continue on to the next episode. Or as he put it, "I know the kid is downstairs waiting to be fed, but let's watch another one!"

Hot Sauce

I'm going to get a 'C:/ Dos prompt' on my arm :p

Speaking of tatts when you getting yours Arnarkin. Thinking of getting it soon.

Looks nice... I just want loads of weapons, even a rolled up newspaper would be nice.

Me and my friends were saying that once this game comes out… Don’t be surprised if some Black Power nut decides to call for a ban on this game because some white dude is blasting off black zombies in Africa heheh.

Check out the Dr Strange animated feature. Doesn't look too bad... The old asian sorcerer sounds like the dude that played Ra's Al Ghul.

who says they dont want freedom!!!

I have to say I'm a huge fan of the Ultimates series when Millar and Hitch were doing it - it was simply described as wide screen comics!!!! which is so true as no-one not even Jim Lee himself can draw comics that you swear your watching a movie... alas Joe Mads version looks very actiony Loebs alley as per superman/batman books...still cant wait to see what mad has been up to these past 2 years since announcing they were taking over for Ultimates 3.

Side note look out for Ultimates 4 with Ed McGuiness in the near future...

Check the rest over at JoeMadFan

Man cmoic book movies are becoming a dime a dozen - Guy Ritchie will direct a film adaptation of his own comic creation, "Gamekeeper," with Joel Silver set to produce. Andy Diggle wrote the story.

Ed Burns has struck a deal with Virgin Comics to create a series entitled "Dock Walloper" in which it will become a comic book series and possibly a feature filmafter being convinced by such films as sin city and 300.

and Louis Leterrier ("The Transporter 1 & 2") is directing Hulk based off a script by Zak Penn. The movie will be released 2008. Liv Tyler co-stars as his love interest, Betty Ross. William Hurt and Tim Roth also round out the cast

and Saw 4 teaser released

Pretty bad quality. But if you must then by all means press play. Otherwise wait for the proper one to appear online.

Warning spoilers ahead. So highlight below if you want to see the transcript of the trailer.

Bruce Wayne: I knew the mob wouldn't go down without a fight. Now this is different. They've crossed the line.

Alfred: You crossed the line first, sir. You hampered them (???). And in their desperation, they turned to a man they didn't fully understand.
Some men aren't looking for anything logical. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with.
Some men just want to watch the world burn.

The Joker: Starting tonight: people will die. I'm a man of my word... [laughs]

Also a new viral site has pop up for TDK. WhySoSeries, pretty cool.

watchmen news as it breaks has just released its highly unusual cast for whats supposed to be THE best comic book movie by my all time fav writer alan moore

click here for an overview of what the stories about and whose involved in making this over 10 years colossial achievement

some trivia

The first official image from the director Zack Snyder, a test shot of Rorshach holding The Comedian's button, was actually hidden in the trailer for the film "300". It features one of the director's associates wearing a makeshift mask in front of a composite New York backdrop, and was created during filming on 300 as an experiment by Snyder to establish the mood and look of his proposed WATCHMEN project. Zack Snyder's wife bet $100 against him that no one would discover it, while Zack was convinced that someone would find it almost immediately. Zack won.

Both Tom Cruise and Jude Law expressed interest in the role of Ozymandias.

Simon Pegg met with the producers to discuss the role of Rorschach when Paul Greengrass was attached to direct at Paramount, but nothing was agreed for certain before that project went into turnaround.

According to ACIN tons of rumours are flooding in some including that this movie coulc be linked to voltron...

(A) "CLOVERFIELD is really RAMPAGE," (B) "CLOVERFIELD is really VOLTRON," and (C) "CLOVERFIELD is called MONSTROUS," all rumors that have been floating around the internet for weeks now.

Heroes online comics are soon to be published as a graphic novel by DC. I haven't read all the Heroes comics but i'll probably be picking these up. Also it's coming out in fall roughly the same time the DVD season 1 boxset is coming out so I wouldn't be surprised if there's going to be some special DVD boxset packaging.

We are very excited to be releasing the compilation of “Heroes” comics through DC Comics," said series creator-executive producer Tim Kring in a subsequent press release. "Until now, most of these stories have only been available on NBC.com. To have this first printing coming from DC, the premier publisher of comic books, is a dream come true. - Source
What is also exciting is that Alex Ross/Jim Lee are going to be doing all new covers for the graphic novel... Yippie!

Sources at AICN confirmed that

Thee “Disturbia” team of director D.J. Caruso and screenwriter Carl Ellsworth is bringing the project to the big screen.
Did you know vaughn actually is on the "lost" staff?...

Dunno how you guessed it but rumoured that Zachary Quinto will be the next spock...

It's 15min long... But well worth it. I can't believe there is so much you can do now and with Snake given more new animation. Anyways check it out.

The musical follows much of the original plot - five friends find the Book of the Dead in a cabin in the woods, unleashing evil undead creatures. Possession and bloodshed ensues. What's different with the musical is, obviously, the singing and dancing. The songs, dialogue, and cheap production values both satirize and pay homage to the original trilogy very well. There are so many references to the original film in the dialogue that hardcore fans will have a blast. It's just really silly and really fun. Website has more clips of the musical... check out the last 3 on the page.

I hope it gets shown Down Under. I would pay to see this... Hahahahah

What do you all think??? I reckon it looks shit house. Looks like a stilettos or something. Can ya believe it cost $1million dollars to come up with that logo. What fucking ridiculous person is charging this much for such a hack job.

The old Qantas logo was always nice very balanced.

war!!

i love Jason Statham one of the most totally underrated actors out there (shuns mark whalberg) movie looks ok - some nice action scenes!

those crazy thai guys are at it again...thai cowboys riding missles?? WTF?? check out the trailer to see every stunt in the film done in slow motion...next!

…a comedic drama about Sam Oliver, a 21-year-old slacker who learns that at birth his parents sold his soul to the devil and now has to pay the debt by becoming the Satan’s bounty hunter, retrieving souls escaped from hell.
Looks alright. Apparently Time, NY Mag, IGN have given the pilot/first episode the thumbs up.

I reckon Ch7 will be getting this... Its the only chanel i think that doesn't stuff around and actually shows the entire season.

30 Days of Night was initially a miniseries of horror comics written by Steve Niles, illustrated by Ben Templesmith and published by IDW Publishing in 2002. now its being produced by ghost house pictures and sam raimi.

beware contains scenes with josh harnett

This looks pretty interesting

Very bored today so i decided to watch some boxing clips on Youtube. My favourite boxer of all time has got to be Roy Jones Jr. Check out this clip and at the 1.50min mark you can see why this guy was put as Pound-for-Pound the greatest boxer of this decade in 1999.
Roy Jones Jr. uses a unique and inimitable style of boxing that relies heavily on his natural athletic abilities and ring generalship. Fighting out of an orthodox stance with his left hand down low, Roy Jones Jr. uses his quick reflexes and footwork to control the distance between his opponent thus allowing him throw right hand and left hook leads while staying just out of reach of his opponent.

woohoo M. Night Shyamalan is filming a new movie with mark wahlberg specifically in mind.

Based on a screenplay by Shyamalan, the movie will tell of a global environmental disaster that threatens the existence of mankind. Wahlberg will play a father who takes his family on the run while Leguizamo will play his best friend.

I loved unbreakable my fav movie!! the village also gets honourable mention.

A week ago i showed some person selling the whole Transformers set for $1million. Guess what it's been sold... I didn't think it would have been sold as quick.

Count them. 275 Tranformers from the '80s. 101 Autobots, 81 Decepticons, 92 licensed products, some never removed from box, some mint-in-box, all ready for the mother of all battles. Sold for $1,000,000 at eBay in a story full of drama, love and cartoon passion that started out of pity for Starscream.

Hey just got sent me this creative shirt design competition. Apparently you upload, they choose the most creative one's you pay with the printing (which they will help you with), then they open up a marketing stall on a particular day and you sell your shirts and keep the profits.

Shirty07

I got a couple things in mind, If your willing to help me i can do all the vectoring stuff. Closing submission date is 29-July. Get back to me asap yeah if you are. This could be our break to get out of this stinking rut and live the high life of porn, champagne and guilt free sex.

Snootch to the Boootch,

Seriously dude we need to get these sweet Japanese figures and those transforming shoes!!!

i really like what aint it cool news has to say about franchises... if they are doing it just for the love of money then whats the point??

apparantly jim carey will not reprise his role for this one(good idea), if they are going to go with a ace ventura Jr. then its doomed to fail!!

look out for Untitled Underworld Prequel scheduled for 2009!!!

TOKYO -- Action icon Shinichi "Sonny" Chiba announced his retirement from action thesping under his Japanese stage name at a press conference in Tokyo on Monday, citing his age, 68, and physical decline. He also said that he intends to teach at his alma mater, Nippon Sport Science University, and launch his own acting school in Japan.

Heard over at Variety that one of my favourite Japanese actors has retired, he was like the Asian Sean Connery, he had this thing about him. I know he hasn't done a lot of international films but he sure did bring a lot to Kill Bill as that memorable Swordsmith.

I don't think he's retiring is a definite but he will be less inclined to take on action pack roles. Oh well... All the best to Sonny.

i could have sworn joe mad designed this game...!?!?! still looks kick ass...i dont have sound at work..

This looks pretty cool. Kinda like 300, Prince of Persia, Tomb Raider and God of War all rolled into one. Check it out

Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock

Any game that includes Tenacious D automatically gets a +2 in my book. Oh, and I have a promise for you...the next time I see "...goes to 11!" in an article, I will fly to that person's location and punch them in the face. I get it...Spinal Tap...awesome.
Guitar Hero 3 is the first Guitar Hero title developed by Neversoft after taking over the reigns from Red Octane (who got bought by Mtv). The formula hasn't changed...5 notes scrolling from top down, hit corresponding notes on your guitar, totally rock out.
The graphical enhancement on this one is freakin' awesome. It was shining brightly on the 360 we saw demoed. One level had your band rocking out in a strip club with two exotic dancers swinging around on poles as you played. The developers said that was a fun motion capture day. I can imagine.
Oh, and Judy Nails...well...she got some enhancements in this game. Wow. You'll have to see it once the game comes out, but she certainly seemed much more...uhm....Jessica Rabbit?
New to Guitar Hero is the heads up match play. Basically you play versus an opponent and instead of star power you receive different types of attacks. Some involved "cutting a string" where you had to pound on a fret until your note worked again, there was "amp overload" where suddenly your opponents notes would start flashing in and out, "double notes" where everything was doubled, "increase difficulty" which bumps your opponents level up, "lefty flip" which would swap your opponent to the opposite fret setup. All looked like fun and would bring plenty of chances to attack your best friend with a guitar.
To end the demo one of the lead developers came out, explained how he hates wires and proceeded to completely smash the fuck out of a Guitar Hero controller. I feared for Crecente (from Kotaku) and N'Gai Croal's (from Nesweek) lives as they were within shrapnel range. No one died though and the developer went on to say that there would be no more wires in the Guitar Hero series. YOU CAN'T STOP THE METAL.
I'm totally amped up for this one...get it.."amped" up? I slay me.

Spider-Man: Friend or Foe

This was out of left field for me. I hadn't heard anything on this game until I saw the trailer and then saw the live demo at our press event.
Spider-Man: Friend or Foe pits you (as Spider-Man) against some of the classic villains from the three movies...and as you beat them, they become a part of your team. So, you can be running around with Dock Ock and Spidey whaling on bad guys.
The team behind it says they are trying to infuse a light-hearted approach to the game...more of a comic book style Spidey with witty dialogue and what not. Oh, and at one point during the trailer we caught a glimpse of both Harry as Green Goblin and his father as the Original Goblin...the ultimate Goblin duet. Insanity!
The game plays like a cross between the Ultimate Alliance titles and Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. You get the wide angle on rails view of your fighter as they run around pounding away on the baddies. I'm sure we'll be getting more info on this one as it comes closer to launch...it could be kind of neat to run around with your buddies as various Spider-Man villains. Eh?

Check out GezFez amazing illustrator/concetp artist. He's like the alternate reality me. Loves graphic design but mixes design with anime/comic influences in his artwork and you can see it. This dude has furthur pushed me to do a 1yr Diploma design course.

Also check Adi Granov. Concept artist, who worked on Marvel Comic covers/comics. I know Arnarkin is big fan of his work.

It's been a while since I've seen this movie. But man this is such a top movie... You have to be in the right frame of mind to watch it, if its your first time but its worth it. 4.5/5

Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great Wars a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off. - Tyler Durden
I don't care what anyone says Brad Pitt in this movie is the mother fucking definition of cool. Almost the white Sam L.Jackson.

Rumours are saying that Edward Nygma aka The Riddler is to make a cameo in The Dark Knight. If this is true then Christopher Nolan i applaud you. I just hope that with the Riddlers appearance it doesn't make TKD too cluttered (Spiderman 3) with Villains but rather gives us an opening for the Batman world Nolan has created in which the possibilities are endless.

I've had most parts of this news corroborated by a few voices, so I'm happy to report it all in good faith. Be wary of spoilers from the very next sentence onwards.

So, not only are more and more people telling me that Anthony Michael Hall is playing Edward Nygma in The Dark Knight, as we discussed before, I've now recieved a report of scenes filmed with Aaron Eckhart...

Here's a little photoshop picture someone posted up showing what Anthony Michael Hall will look like in the movie.

Enjoy

Just roll the damm tape...

New Ford Falcon FPV models. I reckon its looks tough way tougher then the VE. Although they might be dropping the I6.

Ford's V8 engines will be carried over, but there is speculation surrounding the company's locally built in-line six-cylinders. Ford Australia management met with union officials this week and told them that the company was considering "a range of options" for the Falcon's future six-cylinder engines, one of which would be an imported V6 from parent Ford Motor Company in America.

This animal is like my new hero, in the animal kingdom. I'm surprised how vicious and swift this animal attacks its prey. Always thought they herbivores.

Dude sells his entire Transformers collection set from '84-'87 for million bucks. Pretty impressive collection but I just want the Megatron more then anything. Ebay

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. So, Bryan Singer's sequel to SUPERMAN RETURNS is moving forward. That'll be good news for a lot of people and bad news for others. I know the fanbase is divided on Singer's take on SUPERMAN RETURNS. I personally liked the movie, flaws and all. I think it was too closely married to Richard Donner's universe. I wish Singer had felt free enough to make a Superman movie that didn't fall plot point to plot point in line with the 1978 film. I want to see Lex really be an evil bastard, not someone who surrounds himself with idiots and wants more beachfront property.

At Comic-Con last year Singer promised his sequel to RETURNS would be more WRATH OF KHAN, something really big on the tension and action. I think that's smart. We all know Superman loves Lois. It's great, but I'm ready to see Superman really be put to the test.

Kevin Spacey will be back as Lex Luthor. I'd like to see a new villain, but I'd love to see Lex manipulating the situation. Not in the jokey way that Hackman did in SUPERMAN 2, but really be a bastard.

Michael Dougherty is scripting now and Singer will helm the project after the WW2 actioneer VALKYRIE and drama THE MAYOR OF CASTRO STREET. The idea is to go into production next year for a 2009 release.

I'm no hero...
Never was...
I'm just an old killer...
Hired to do some wet work.

This game alone has sold me to get a PS3. Can you believe this is all running in real time?. Also check out Raiden vs. Vamp fight. Probably one of the most spectacular/coolest cg fights i have ever seen.

Oh and its going to be a World Wide Release. Hell mutha-effing yes.

Thought-provoking, 11 April 1999

Author: Andrew Howe from Sydney, Australia

Ah, the little Australian film, how we love you. Cosi, True Love and Chaos, Bliss – does anyone in the world do low-budget films better? Next case for the defence is The Interview, a film which consists almost entirely of Reverend Bob from E Street and his offsider putting the screws to Hugo Weaving (legend!) in an attempt to get him to confess to a crime he may or may not have committed. It's claustrophobic, features a cast of fairly nasty characters, and boasts more dialogue per square minute of screen time than any film in recent memory (except perhaps Glengarry Glen Ross). It does, however, draw you in like the receding tide, doubling back and forth until you no longer remember just who you're supposed to be believing. It's worth noting that this film managed to provoke the longest discussion with a fellow movie-goer after it ended that I've had for a very long time, and that's a testament to the way in which the film leaves it to the viewer to make their own judgements, rather than spoon-feeding us in the usual Hollywood tradition.

It's not going to set the world on fire, and it's not going to shoot into your top ten with a bullet, but it's a thought-provoking effort which should not be missed. Give it a go. - exert from imbd

Well I just been browsing around the net. Came across a Get Smart movie trailer/teaser, which doesn't look too bad, Not hyping this movie up or anything cause i know who the target audience is but I hope this movie is going to be enjoyable, as I was a bit of a Get Smart fan in its days.

Also its E3 time so i was giddy this morning to find out they have new footage of Resident Evil 5. Doesn't show much other then it looks similar to Land of the Dead and the setting is in Africa... But any news is good news. Still don't think its enough to get me to buy one of the next gen consoles tho.

Sounds crazy but TMZ.com (http://www.tmz.com) does have a history of acquiring great scoops.

The gossip site is reporting that Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller are discussing working together on a film that will take the Hardy Boys into adulthood, titled "The Hardy Men." The project would be setup at 20th Century Fox with Shawn Levy ("Cheaper by the Dozen") to direct.

"The Hardy Books" are a series of books dating back to 1927 about two teenage brothers who go around solving mysteries. Over the years, several authors have penned the books under the name Franklin W. Dixon.

Matt Damon as Captain Kirk? Adrien Brody as Spock? Gary Sinise as Dr. McCoy?

IGN FilmForce (http://filmforce.ign.com) is reporting that those three names are contenders for J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" film which will be a prequel to the original series. The next "Star Trek" film is said to feature Kirk, Spock and McCoy as students at the Star Fleet Academy. Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci are penning the screenplay, with Abrams and "Lost" co-creator Damon Lindelof producing.

The untitled "Star Trek" film will be the eleventh in the film franchise and is due out Christmas 2008.

The movie which is code-named Cloverfield, is a big New York Monster movie from the perspective of a small group of people with consumer video cameras. Produced by JJ Abrams (Lost, Alias), directed by Matt Reeves (Felicity) and written by Drew Goddard (Lost, Alias), the film is being shot for around $30 million ( is that right??). The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on January 18th 2008.

the latest discovery so far is the Slusho website, which might be connected to the movie. The Cloverfield trailer shows Mike Vogul wearing a shirt with the Slusho logo (during the news broadcast), which is a pretty good sign. also noticed is that the "party" picture at 1-18-08.com, has Slusho in it as well. The guy pouring a drink into Rob on the left seems to be wearing a Slusho shirt. It's just a blur, but you can almost make out the Slusho pattern and colors. Connected? Check it out yourself...and you be the judge!

Ever wonder what you would look like in the world of Matt Groening and the Simpsons?

SimpsonsMovie.com (http://www.simpsonsmovie.com) has a cool feature on its brand new, relaunched website that features a chance for you to create your very own Simpsons avatar, whether you want to base one on yourself or create a bizarre Simspons-type character from scratch. Your avatar will show up on various parts of the website if you register on the site as well.

Michael Bay isn't too pleased about what he believes is a case of people taking credit where credit is not due and he let the world know. Well, just temporarily at least.

Nikki Finke's DeadlineHollywoodDaily.com (http://www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com) caught this blog post that Bay reported posted on his official blog, which was taken down moments later. In his rant, Bay claims that "Transformers" producers Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto are claiming they had more creative input on the film than they really did, even going as far as saying "Give me a break, the guy was lying through his teeth" at one point. Here are some excerpts from the post click here

Hell yeah this is what i'm talking about.

Check it out. Cloverfield

After seeing this in high quality, You can really see the Statue of Liberty head and i did a little net searching around I'm leaning more towards that this move might be Cthulhu.

here are some examples but go here to find out more....

Not much has been revealed about the movie Cloverfield. Other then it was shown as a trailer during the Transformers release in the States.

A lot of people are saying its a new Godzilla movie. But i disagree due to the fact that if this was a Godzilla movie why in the hell would you call it Cloverfield and the font they have used for the Cloverfield title is more suited to a supernatural/Sci-Fi action thriller. Over at AICN, They are saying the thing that causes the explosion is a thing called 'The Parasites'

From what i saw in the trailer this movie looks sweet and has got me salivating wanting to know more. I can say now that JJ Abrams is one of greatest masters of deception or they got some slick production/marketing crew behind this movie.

So check it out before it gets taken down.

How freaking awesome is this?... I want it now dagnamit.

i have no idea what season this is from.....!!??!

I cant believe this was the pitch

This actually aired in 1996
